It's great that My Morning Jacket both funk and metal on (2011), but many fans were not waiting for all that fuss. Four years later, they can indulge themselves in The Waterfall. … Morning Jacket productions is also present. This gives the songs an almost religious undertone, with singer James as psychedelic priest. Due to the reverberating reverb, the songs sometimes become a bit unclear. The murky sound certainly has its charm, but people who listen superficially will not realize how many layers The Waterfall consists of. My Morning Jacket remains a band for which you have to do your best. (JE)more
