One of the nicest Dutch indie bands of the early 2000s was . The band distinguished itself by the (duo) vocals of Marg van Eenbergen and Susanne Linssen, and the violin playing of the latter. Unfortunately Seedling gave up after two albums, after which Linssen continued in the band (and Van Eenbergen with ). Linssen also played the violin at Hospital Bombers and took care of part of the vocals,
… but her place was always more in the background. With her own band Beginners, Linssen does claim the leading role. Linssens performed her self-written songs with the help of musicians from bands such as , and , and Jan Schenk (Hospital Bombers) took care of the production. September Sunburn therefore sounds like the sum of all these bands, including . That means refined, always pleasantly loosely played alternative guitar pop, with of course an important part for the violin. September Sunburn is a beautiful debut, where Susanne Linssen (finally) rightly comes to the fore. (IV)more
