Coldplay singer Chris Martin once called himself 'a poor man's Fran Healy' in an interview. That's a nice compliment to Travis frontman Fran Healy. With his romantic Britpop songs, Travis paved the way for groups like Coldplay, Keane and The Script. Unfortunately, Travis was overtaken left and right by those groups in 2013. The fat years are already ten years behind the group. Still, we don't need
… to feel sorry for them. Especially on the European mainland Travis is still doing well, perhaps that is also the reason that this seventh CD was recorded in Norway and Germany. After his solo outing (the CD Wreckorder from 2010), Healy seems to have started on the new Travis CD full of inspiration. Strongest asset is still his clean, high voice that you recognize out of thousands. Songs such as the title track and Moving are also a strong addition to hits such as Why Does It Always Rain Me and Sing. Where You Stand is a hopeful sign of life from a band that is far from finished. (PdK)more
