It is clear that Satriani is a true master in composing and performing inimitable guitar riffs, but he also manages to surprise with his fourteenth solo record. While recording his album, he seems to have sat down in a relaxed armchair to see what he could get out of his guitar. … in peace. Keneally certainly makes the most impression. Nothing seems too crazy for the keyboard player and he also ensures that Satriani's solos are provided with some extra power. It produces rough songs like Unstoppable Momentum, Lies And Truths and A Door Into Summer. These are all gems of blues rockers, forged into a perfect end product by Mike Fraser. Unstoppable Momentum is one of Satriani's best records, partly because of the clearly audible pleasure in playing. (BvdV)more
