Dope DOD is a hip-hop / dubstep / horrorcore group from Groningen consisting of the members Jay Reaper, Dopey Rotten and Skits Vicious. They get their inspiration mainly from horror films and musically acts like Limp Bizkit, Korn and Eminem have had some influence. In the Netherlands they are still relatively unknown, certainly compared to other countries. This while they have performed nicely on
… the same stages as hip-hop group Onyx and Limp Bizkit, among others. Da Roach is their second official album, which has eighteen tracks and a handful of dream guest appearances. For example, Redman, Kool Keith, Sean Price and Onyx make their appearance. The guys from Dope DOD rap even more disturbed than they look and make a big impression, especially across the border. Here and there the Dutch accents are sometimes disturbing, but it is clear that they have invested a lot of time in their lyrics. Well worth a listen for fans of the genre! (GL)more
