The alternating lighthearted and depressive songs also turned out to do well on the radio and MTV. The singles Zero, Bullet With Butterfly Wings, Tonight, Tonight and 1979 became classics. That did not detract from the fact that Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness as a whole made a strong impression and had many more highlights.
