Few Dutch groups seem to evoke more resistance than Kane. Still funny in a country that seems to be bound by consensus. All this probably has to do with the drive of band leaders Dinand Woesthoff and Dennis van Leeuwen. Also for this album the line-up of the group was shaken up again, only guitarist Robin Berlin (ex-Fatal Flowers) has remained. All those line-up changes have hardly any effect on
… the sound of the group from The Hague, although the opening track Under Atomic Skies gives a bit of a nod to Coldplay. The rest of this album offers the sleek rock we have come to expect from Kane. Perfect for a full Ahoy. Song titles such as This Is Not The End Of The World and What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger testify to a newfound optimism in lyricist Woesthoff. Other than that Come Together offers few surprises and that is a boon for the many fans of Kane. (PdK)more
