Musically, the mid-sixties were mainly dominated by British beat music. Groups like , , and took the world by storm, leaving their influences everywhere. … Los Angeles is mixed under garage rock, but the group was actually a lot more professional and skilled from the start. Singer had even made a few singles before joining the group. The Seeds had two minor hits with Can't Seem To Make You Mine and Pushin 'Too Hard before this unnamed debut album was released in 1966. A record full of filthy and mesmerizing beat music and acid rock with distorted and repetitive guitar riffs, rolling drums and raw saxon vocals. This re-release features a remaster of the original mono version and includes ten additional tracks including a 16-minute version of Evil Hoodoo.
