Gossip's music is often interpreted as a new wave / punkfunk group with a soul singer as the front woman. That you are actually doing the group short with that description, they already prove in the opening track, which taps from several musical tunes. Perhaps the success of their previous album (especially in Germany where the single Heavy Cross was on the charts for a year and a half (!)), Allowed the group to experiment. Brian Higgins is behind the buttons, an outspoken pop producer who previously worked for and . It works. Also on their fifth album Gossip manages to find the right balance between pop feeling and artistic quality and that is great. (PdK)more
