Kelly Clarkson will be so grateful to her friends for giving up on American Idol in 2002. The then 20-year-old Clarkson stunned everyone and won the talent show by force majeure. Nine years later and 23 million albums sold further, she is already ready for her fifth album. In terms of style, it does not differ much from the previous four. Most of the songs on Stronger again consist of pop songs.
Nevertheless, the singer managed to surprise. The title opener Mr Know It All, released as a single, is a mix of pop and R&B and the subsequent Stronger features a great power beat. According to Clarkson, this is one of the songs that should make her audience dance at upcoming concerts. What is also striking is that the deluxe edition of this CD contains no less than seventeen songs. No lack of inspiration. The bonus track Don't You Wanna Stay is actually a really nice gift. With this country duet that she sings with Jason Aldean, she shows that she has not forgotten her Texan roots. (BvdV)more
