It is Sunday afternoon and Fin Greenall has invited his parents for a cup of tea. While Mr. and Mrs. Greenall take a seat on the couch, their son puts on his latest album Perfect Darkness. "How many record is this now, Fin?" Mrs. Greenall asks with interest. "My fifth, Mother." For a moment an uncomfortable silence threatens, but then the conversation starts. The weather is discussed, recipes are
… exchanged and Fin pours again. After a few hours of chatting, his parents leave again. It was a nice afternoon, not least because of the familiar sound of a Finnish CD in the background. Perfect Darkness is an album full of moody and responsible background music as his previous albums were. As singer / songwriter Fink, Fin Greenall never brings anything sensational. His style is solid and recognizable: calm beats, rhythmic acoustic strums and plenty of room for his slightly hoarse voice. Without a real outlier, the 45 minutes of music on Perfect Darkness is of an acceptable level. His parents can be proud again, although even they will not overflow with enthusiasm. (JE)more
