Mixed feelings. On the one hand it is great to hear new material from Michael Jackson. The question is whether Michael Jackson himself would ever give permission for this CD. Quincy Jones, the producer who worked closely with Jackson for years, is not pleased with the record and some members of the Jackson family are even convinced that not all vocals on the record were sung by Michael. Producer
… Teddy Riley, who was mainly involved with Jackson's later material, dismissed all these allegations and felt that this CD added something to Michael's 'legacy'. Unfortunately that is not the case. This record is a mockery, a debacle. Everything shows that the production process is far from complete. The fact that a lot of work had to be done, according to Riley, has come at the expense of the recognisability of Michael's voice. It seems like someone at Sony benefits a little too much from the release of this record. Michael probably never approved of this album. (GL)more
