As one of the great stars, Shakira dares to take on the whole world. Her latest CD is almost bursting with positive energy and is appropriately called Sale El Sol, which was translated for the international release as The Sun Comes Out. The disco and R&B of She Wolf (2009), which was released exactly a year earlier, has almost disappeared. Now the singer brings a nice mix of rock, hip hop, dance
… and much more. What makes Shakira so good is that she has something quirky and crazy deep inside. The Sun Comes Out naturally guarantees cheerful dance numbers and a few ballads, but surprising choices have also been made. Tu Boca could have been on a The Pixies CD with his wonderful riffs and thunderous drums, Devoción even contains a part with distortion about Shakira's voice. And what about the cover of The XX? I'm crazy but you like it, 'an invincible Shakira sings in single Loca. That's how it is. (JE)more
