Duran Duran has entered into a remarkable collaboration for Red Carpet Massacre. The sticker on the cover says it all: 'featuring Falling Down produced by Justin Timberlake'. What the sticker does not mention, however, is that Duran Duran has also attracted big names for the other songs. None other than Timbaland and his protégé Nata 'Danja' Hills produced the rest of the CD (Timbaland three
… songs), with which the glamor boys of the eighties also seem to aim for success in the twenty-first century. Although perhaps a somewhat illogical combination at first sight, the productions of the hit team Timberlake, Timbaland and Danja sometimes turn out to go well with Duran Duran. It continues to sound like pop, and they leave enough to make it another Duran Duran album. What is missing are truly memorable songs, which makes Red Carpet Massacre sound modern, but delivers few highlights. (IV)more
