The Scorpions went to Los Angeles to record Humanity: Hour 1. Not coincidentally the same city where the band recorded their successful album Crazy World in 1990. The band approached well-known songwriter and producer Desmond Child to take a seat behind the buttons. A good choice, because the sound of Desmond Child (previously heard on albums by Aerosmith, Kiss and Alice Cooper) fits perfectly with
… the stadium rock of The Scorpions. Child also co-wrote a number of songs. The fat riffs and sing-along choruses of The Game Of Life and Humanity could well give the band a hit in the fourth decade of their existence. The CD comes with an extra DVD with the bonus track Cold. The band members also talk about the lyrical concept of the album: a call for respect and tolerance. (PdK)more
