Pernice Brothers is one of the best kept secrets of American pop. They release records on their own label, performing happens sporadically, as the band members just have full-time jobs and a family life. The modest reputation they have built up is due to the consistent quality of the albums that quietly find their way into the small but loyal fan base. Live A Little is just another new Pernice
… Brothers album and only differs from the predecessors in minor points. For example, the folk pop songs sound a bit lighter and less melancholic than before and the voice of namesake and frontman Joe Pernice has been put on the tape drier, as if he finally feels comfortable with his singing voice. Again this CD will not be sold in large numbers, but perhaps a few souls will be won again. (MS)more
