The tone is immediately set in the dark title track, with sinister growling basses and his striking, screeching guitar sound. In the cheerful pop funk song Lolita, Prince pokes fun at his own 'midlife crisis'. Black Sweat and Love offer fat funk in the style of Sign O'The Times and Alphabet

After the heartbreaking The Dance, the festive latino jazz funk of bouncer Get On The Boat has an extra festive look. 3121 does not surprise, but delivers a delicious portion of solid and steaming funk, as we prefer to hear from Prince.
