Like Robbie Williams, Ronan Keating has developed an extremely successful solo career after his boy band period. Unlike Williams, however, Keating remains quite close to his boy band past musically. Sweet ballads and middle of the road pop songs also predominate on his third solo album Turn It On (2003). Keating does not take any chances to make Turn It On sound anything different from his previous
… albums. To realize this he has attracted a large number of well-known songwriters, and as always there is a cover (Let Her Down Easy by Terence Trent D'Arby). There is also a duet with former country singer LeAnn Rimes (Last Thing On My Mind). Nice for his fans and Sky Radio, but you wonder if Ronan himself isn't going to long for a bit of excitement or adventure in his music. (IV)more
