In the decades that followed, the Allman Brothers continued to build on their characteristic sound, where the two drummers lay down a swinging groove, over which the two solo guitarists play double loops. On Hittin 'The Note, the first studio album since Where It All Begins (1994), besides Gregg Allman we find a large part of the original rhythm section. Impression are the new guitarists Oteil Burbridge and Derek Trucks. The well-oiled machine of that time has only started to run smoother over the years, thanks to the uninterrupted speed. (MS)more
