The English six-man band Threshold has gained a solid reputation over the years by subtly mixing metal and progressive rock. On the one hand, Threshold refers to the melodic hard rock of the eighties - hopelessly out of fashion in 2002 - but the tasteful vocals and symphonic arrangements keep Threshold from ending up in the stale retro corner.
