Nikki Webster was born in Sydney in 1987. Already at the age of ten she shared the stage with Michael Jackson on the Australian leg of his History Tour (1997). She became even more famous in 2000 with her performances at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games. Her first single Strawberry Kisses was released in Australia in June 2001. The debut album Follow Your Heart followed in September.
Both went platinum in no time. Now that the storm has calmed down somewhat in his own country, the teenage star Nikki Webster is launched in Europe. Follow Your Heart contains twelve catchy pop songs. The songs are mostly uptempo and nicely danceable, but there are also two ballads. The (simple) lyrics are about things like friendship, school and falling in love. Production was in the hands of Chong Lim and Ross Fraser, two big names in Australian pop music (they previously worked with Peter Andre, John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John, among others). Nikki's role model is Kylie Minogue, but with Follow Your Heart she is currently in the same class as Billy Crawford, A * Teens, S Club 7 and Britney Spears. (MvP)more
