Super Collider is the product of the joint efforts of techno-producer Christian Vogel and Jamie Liddell. Those who expect a collection of club hits like their first single Darn (Cold Way O'Lovin) with Raw Digits will be disappointed, because Raw Digits is absolutely not danceable. It's similar to what would happen if Autechre remixed George Clinton's p-funk: freaky, funky, but above all, inimitably
… original. Raw Digits sounds like it was shot in a sewer, with dripping water splashing down into the hollow sewer pipes as percussion. Liddell's soulful vocals range from those of a funky robot to a haunted ghost, but are always one with the alienating atmosphere. The beginning of the CD is very similar to Do You Like My Tight Sweater ?, Moloko's first CD, but more experimental. This road is steadfast, without losing its magical spell.
