The successful collaboration between Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris on the CD All The Roadrunning (2006) was also continued in the form of a tour. A concert from this has been recorded on this DVD Real Live Roadrunning. The elaborately filmed performance - even the shoes of the musicians are regularly shown - clearly shows that in this case the whole is indeed more than the sum of its parts. This
… is especially true for Knopfler, because where Harris has worked with various artists over the years, Knopfler also seems to be really getting better with Harris' presence on stage. Supported by a large band including a mandolin, accordion and violin, those songs from All The Roadrunning and also solo work are performed in an exemplary way. As an extra there are interviews and a nice 'pre show' video added, showing Knopfler and band relaxing and playing music before the show starts. (IV)more
