The young musicians of Bliss Quintet are counted among the new generation of Norwegian jazz talents. They were inducted into Jazzland, the label of lauded Norwegian pianist Bugge Wesseltoft. On their second album, Glasshouse, it is striking to hear that the quintet does not seek a continuation of the typical Scandinavian jazz rooted in classical music and Europe of their previous generation. Rather,

Bliss Quintet pulls this tight, animated and with a youthful energetic vibe into the 21st century. To quote British magazine Jazzwise: '...yet another impressive-sounding young Norwegian band for the future'. (MR)more
