Trumpeter Randy Brecker's own CDs often had quite a few downsides. … by Gilberto Gil, Djavan, Ivan Lins and Joao Bosco, among others. The album was already recorded in 2006 at the Brazilian Banda Sonora Studios, but only saw the light of day in 2009. It immediately won an American Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album. Rightly so, because with the successful mix of Brazil jazz and fusion, this is one of Brecker's best albums, perhaps his very best. (HB)more
