Swedish bassist and cellist Lars Danielsson has been part of the international jazz scene for a long time. In addition to performances and albums with prominent Americans, he has written many albums of his own, all characterized by his deep and melodic bass playing. Danielsson's last three CDs were released on the ACT label, just like Tarantella. Libera Me was all about mixing jazz with orchestral
… sounds, while Mélange Bleu looked for it in nu jazz. At Pasodoble, Danielsson teamed up with his discovery and protégé Leszek Możdżer. This talented Polish pianist will also play his Keith Jarrett-inspired playing on Tarantella. Guitarist John Parricelli, drummer Eric Harland and Norwegian lyric trumpet player Mathias Eick are also present. Together they make a particularly beautiful form of chamber jazz. Some keywords: peace, space, spherical, lyrical, harmonious and melodic. It seems like a description of a holiday destination and Tarantella offers the possibility to virtually find yourself in beautiful locations such as an Alpine meadow, a Norwegian fjord or a mysterious ruin.
