Pieces Of A Dream was founded in 1975 in Philadelphia as a trio. Although this trio has always been known as a jazz formation, it mainly specialized in a combination of smooth jazz, r & b and fusion. With No Assembly Required, drummer Curtis Harmon and keyboardist James Lloyd, the two remaining founders, continue this line. With the help of a number of musicians, especially bassist David Dyson
… and saxophonist Jason Davis, Pieces Of A Dream plunges into the type of fusion that had its heyday in the late eighties. Super smooth polished and made in a place where the sun always shines and no one has any problems. The founders' more than thirty years of experience can be heard in each song, which provides the CD with many predictable moments. A Piece Of This? surprised at the end of the CD by the relatively filthy funk approach, but otherwise this CD is best listened to in the sun with a cool snack within reach. (AD)more
