The feature film Pearl Harbor has everything to become a huge hit. In the United States, after the premiere weekend, people even talked about 'the greatest success since Titanic.' Since Titanic was accompanied by a very successful soundtrack, we were curious how the soundtrack would sound at Pearl Harbor. The CD opens very promisingly with Faith Hill sung There You'll Be. This song is written by
… 'world champion film hit writing' Diane Warren. She has once again managed to write a poignant ballad that can withstand comparison with Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On (from Titanic). The other eight (instrumental) pieces were composed by Hans Zimmer. They carry meaningful titles like Attack, War and December 7th. Typical film music that might be worthwhile if the film has made a deep impression on you, but seems rather long-winded without images. (MvP)more
