After having been supported by a symphony orchestra on the double CD Euforia (2002), Madredeus returns on Um Amor Infinito (2004) to a sober line-up of a number of guitars, here and there a synthesizer and of course the heavenly sound of the singer. Teresa Salgueiro. Now the music of Madredeus has always been soothing, but this album seems even more still and subdued than any previous one. There
… are hardly any changes in tempo. Salguero's voice floats through a dream world accompanied by guitar playing that sounds like a babbling brook. While Movimento (2001) was still imbued with a certain anxiety and longing, on Um Amor Infinito inner peace seems to have been found forever. Wonderful music to catch your breath in this hurried world. (CP)more
