Every French or Francophile knows Julien Clerc. However, when Clerc chose to record his twenty-third album in a studio in London, he discovered that his music was significantly less known there. Getting to know British producer Jimmy Hogarth felt like an audition. Fortunately, Clerc has unmistakably remained himself on the album Partout La Musique Vient. The overarching theme is the termination of
… a love relationship. The first track describes in a humorous way how naively one is tricked by love and ignores alarm signals. With disillusionment and a broken heart as a result, it is a moving and compelling performance in the song Mon Coeur Hélas. Clerc composed the music based on lyrics by Alex Beaupain, Maxime Le Forestier, Gérard Duguet-Grasser and Carla Bruni. Sadness, anger, melancholy and yet humorous optimism… all emotions pass by in this entertaining album. (SvdP)more
