The Dutch love to make fun of people from their neighboring countries. Belgian jokes are a well-known example of this, but the Germans really have to pay for it. Germans and the Second World War are grateful - and also risky - subjects for satirical groups such as Jiskefet. The sketches that Jiskefet made about Germans in the years 1990-2005 have now been released on the DVD Das Deutsche Band.
Featuring thigh-chattering South German humor, a parody of Derrick's 'Kriminalpolizei' and of the techno group Kraftwerk, Schautzi der Wunderhund, German animals in the Pet Shop and Prince Bernhard on safari hunting. A nice thread are the sketches with the two Wehrmacht soldiers Wolfgang and Günther who have lingered in the Netherlands since 'a conflict with the German government'. (SvdP)more
