The Foundation for the Preservation of the Dutch Organ is publishing six CDs that relate to the Frisian organ landscape. This series has been compiled by the well-known organist Jan Jongepier, who has been familiar with Frisian organ culture for about 25 years now. The first CD concerns organs from the 17th and early 18th century. The second part deals with 18th century organ builders from Groningen… (Hinsz, Freytag). The fourth CD features four organs from the Van Dam house. This family left an important mark on Frisian organ culture from the end of the 18th to the beginning of this century. The proceeds from these CDs with music by Bach, Kaufmann and Krebs, among others, are intended for the reconstruction of the Hinzorgel in Sexbierum. (HJ) _more
