Moritz Moszkowski (1854-1925) studied piano in Breslau, Dresden and Berlin. He developed into an 'elegant piano virtuoso' who mainly played Chopin's repertoire and his own. He also gave concerts on two pianos, including Liszt as his partner. He composed a number of symphonic works, an opera and numerous piano works that were particularly popular. Works for piano four hands have been recorded on this

It is therefore pleasant listening and playing music that still makes considerable demands with regard to playing technique. The countless variations on dance forms are among Moszkowski's masterpieces. The Kölner Klavier-Duo, consisting of Elzbieta Kalvelage and Michael Krücker recorded some of these dances on CD: "Album espagnol op.21", "Polnische Volkstänze op.55", "Aus aller Herren Länder op.23", "Deutsche Reigen op.25" and " Spanische Tänze op.12 ".
