Violinist Hilary Hahn is one of the most promising talents of the moment. Her remarkable debut with Sony involved excerpts from Bach's "Sonatas and Partitas", which is a repertoire not usually seen in debuting prodigies (she was 15 years old when recording). This CD was awarded a Diapason d'Or for young talent in 1998. This week the second CD by Hilary Hahn will be offered, this time with Beethoven's
… "Violin Concerto" and Bernstein's "Serenade". According to a program commentary by Bernstein, the latter work was inspired by Plato's "Symposion". Hilary Hahn is accompanied on this CD by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Zinman. (HJ) _more
